Parents...Identify Your Child's Sweet Potential
By Perry A~

Look at them! Aren’t they precious? There is Billy, off by himself with his construction set. His building is perfectly proportioned. He has been working on it for hours. The girls certainly aren’t bothering him. He quickly dedicates himself to a task especially if it involves details. He loves the challenge of figuring things out and putting them together. For a five-year old he really concentrates when he is doing something he loves.

It is a good thing Misty and Megan are twins and have each other. Have you noticed how they always play together? The little hams are real performers and love an audience. They are always plotting clever ways to get praise and attention. They, unlike Billy, are constantly changing from one thing to another. First it is a tea party for all the dolls and then abruptly they shift to performing TV commercials. Such creative minds. Funny how they are all so different.

It is easy for parents to see their children as extensions of themselves. Many parents live their own unfulfilled dreams through their children. If you really want to help your children succeed, says Perry A~, encourage them to develop the natural talents that come so easily to them.

See your children in their unique and individual style. Watch for their natural traits and abilities to surface. Their joy will be evident when they are in their natural flow. Help them to develop the natural abilities that come so easily to them.
